dear you,

happy Wednesday! I hope all of you have been having a good week so far. <3 take a minute to remind yourself how wonderful you are. you have so many unique, amazing, beautiful things about you. it’s easy to forget those things, especially if other people try to convince you otherwise, so take a minute to remember.

think of one thing you love about yourself. one thing that’s amazing, one thing that’s beautiful, one thing that you’re proud of, one thing you wouldn’t change for the world. or if that’s too hard right now, think of one thing that you kind of like. one thing that’s alright, one thing you think isn’t so bad.

write it down. write it here, write it on your blog, write it on your bathroom mirror, write it on a notebook by your bedstand. but write it down somewhere. write it, remember it, treasure it, believe it.

I think we too often forget this. we look around and see society&#8217;s ideal of perfection. society telling us what we should look like, what schools to go to, what professions to strive for, what to think, what to believe in&#8230; it takes courage to stand up and say &#8220;no, this is what I want, and you can&#8217;t make me change.&#8221;  but standing up and saying that is something that will make you happier than conforming to society&#8217;s ideas. &#8216;society&#8217; is an abstract concept. there isn&#8217;t any one person that embodies &#8216;society.&#8217; &#8216;society&#8217; does not have to live your life. you have to live your life. and if you aren&#8217;t happy with the life you live, then what&#8217;s the point? decide who you are. decide who you want to be. and be you.
