I heart…

dear you,

happy Wednesday!

today, take a minute to remind yourself how wonderful you are. you have so many unique, amazing, beautiful things about you. it’s easy to forget those things, especially if other people try to convince you otherwise, so take a minute to remember.

think of one thing you love about yourself. one thing that’s amazing, one thing that’s beautiful, one thing that you’re proud of, one thing you wouldn’t change for the world. or if that’s too hard right now, think of one thing that you kind of like. one thing that’s alright, one thing you think isn’t so bad.

write it down. write it here, write it on your blog, write it on your bathroom mirror, write it on a notebook by your bedstand. but write it down somewhere. write it, remember it, treasure it, believe it.

love, me

PS, what do you love about yourself?

I bet sometime in your life you will hear of someone/know someone/be related to someone/or BE that someone that self injures. It’s something that unfortunately many people go through, especially teens. If you have at least a bit of your heart put into getting people aware of Self Injury and helping stop it, remember that today, March 1st, is Self Injury Awareness Day. Most people who self harm don’t even let anyone know about it, so let THEM know that it’s ok that they aren’t ok. Wear orange around your neck, wrist, on your shirt, hair, anything. Spread the awareness. ♥

If you believe recovery is possible, reblog.

recoveryisbeautiful:

Everyone can change, everyone can be helped, and everyone has strength.

Whether it’s from self-harm, drugs, eating disorders, cigarettes, etc.

Every addiction can be broken with hope and support.

Reblog if you agree!

everyone has more strength than they know, everyone can be helped, and everyone deserves that help. there isn’t a single person out there who doesn’t deserve help, love, and support. <3

dear anyone who is or will be starting a new school year,

I wish you the best of luck on your first day, and on your whole first week.

if you’re starting at a new school, I know how scary that is. take a deep breath, and try to remind yourself that you won’t be the new kid on the block forever.

high school freshman: the next four years will arguably be the hardest four years of your life, but don’t go in dreading those four years, go in looking for the bright spots of hope that will get you through high school. it’s a tough transition, don’t be afraid to ask for help.

high school sophomores: you’ve already had a year to settle into the swing of high school, take this time to catch your breath before the chaos of ACT and SAT preparation comes full swing. lend a helping hand to the freshman who need upperclass advice.

high school juniors: junior year was the hardest year of my high school experience, and I wish you the absolute best of luck with all of the tests and college preparation you’ll be doing. don’t forget to breathe! when you’re floundering and think you can’t swim anymore, don’t hesitate to ask for help. someone will be there, be it a teacher, a friend, a counselor, someone. you can do it. you can make it. in the words of Dory: just keep swimming, just keep swimming…

high school seniors: only one more year and you’re out of high school, congratulations. make the most of this year, and do all you can to help the freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. you’ve been through it all already, you know the ins and outs of your school, so do your best to use that to help everyone else. lend a helping hand, offer advice.

college freshman: I know this is a tough transition. many of you are away from home, possibly for the first time. you’re probably living with a roommate, who you may or may not end up getting along with. they say college is supposed to be the best time of your life, so make the most of it. make the most of your classes, learn how to be an adult, and make friendships that will last you a lifetime.

everyone: the start of school is either something you look forward to, or something you dread. you might be the top dog at your school, or the kid who eats lunch in the bathroom. but either way, know that you are not alone. even if you think that there’s no one else in the world who cares about you, or who will listen to you, I promise you, I’ll be here. if you need anything, I will be here for you, always.

love, me
